I aspire to be an Olympic gold medalist and to have my name stamped in history as the most decorated African-American female in the sport of track. I am willing to work hard and put in time and effort because I know in order to win and compete, my effort has to be bigger than my pride. In terms of work ethic I stay up till about 1:00 in the morning finishing homework , which helps me maintain A's and B's and I take my training very seriously. If I do not feel the bones in my body ache, a twisting pain in my chest, a lost for air or if I am able to stand, I know I did not give that practice my all. Track to me is my way to express who I am as an individual because when I run I feel as though I'm flying and the colors around me become so vibrant as the wind hits me on my face with every charge forward to the finish line. I feel a since pride and joy knowing that the times I show after every race is a time that I know I have put my heart and soul in. Track is the only thing I have and I love it. Even when working on a relay team, I know I have people relying on me to hold up my end of the race. Track means more to me than just spikes and a good time. It means heart and mind coordination because if I don't think I can do it then it will show in my work.
