Hello! My name is Emily Kopec, a senior at Stafford High in Stafford Springs, CT. I am a dedicated athlete of the women's indoor and outdoor track teams and will be completing my final year on the teams. I am more than thankful to have made the decision to become a field event competitor, and pole vault has been the greatest test of my abilities both physically and mentally.
My freshman year I competed on only the outdoor track team, however competing in the class s state meet at Danbury High. My sophomore year I competed in both the indoor and outdoor seasons, able to compete in the state meets as well again. During my Junior and best season yet, I competed in both seasons again and not only participated in the state meets, but also the state open meets and was able to set 4 school records: indoor: long jump (16' 1"), pole vault (9' 6") and outdoor: triple jump (33' 7"), pole vault (10'). I am very proud of all of my accomplishments so far, and I am beyond ecstatic to compete to the best of my ability this year, my final seasons.
Aside from track, I have played field hockey for 5 years so far, softball for 7 years, as well as baseball, and soccer.
My goals for college are to major in orthotics and prosthetics with a masters degree while contributing to the college track team(s). Track has become the base of my high school career and I find myself longing to continue competing well after the seasons are over. I hope to make my mark on the college team. I am extremely dedicated to the sports program and will compete for any college ready to train a hard working athlete. Schooling comes first, and track never fails to motivate me in keeping my grades up.
Thank you for considering me as a possible athlete in your track and field programs!
