Sarah Vaughan '11 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5ft. 4in. mid-distance to distance runner from Hamden, CT and will graduate from Hamden High School with the class of 2011. I am a high honors student having achieved a 3.97 GPA out of a 4.0. I have run varsity outdoor track since my freshman year and now as a senior I joined the cross country and indoor track teams as well, instead of playing varsity soccer. In track, I was All-Division my sophomore year and in my junior year I was All-Division and All-West Sectional. Also as a junior, I qualified for the New Balance Nationals, held in Greensboro, North Carolina, where I ran the 1200m leg in the DMR. I have a true love of running and would like to pursue it in college. I have a great work ethic both in school and in track. When I set goals for myself I do everything I can to achieve them. I would rather be exhausted from success than rested from failure. Ideally, I would like a college larger than my high school, which has about 2,000 students, but I am open to any school that can challenge me academically and athletically. I would say that one of my strongest attributes is that I am a very dedicated and disciplined person who always gives 110% in the classroom and on the track.
