I have always been athletic and competitive. This partially comes from having three brothers, but it's also just my personality. I have tried numerous sports through the years including baseball, field hockey, cross country, soccer and finally track. It was through soccer that I learned that I was usually faster than most of the other girls. So when I got to high school I decided to go out for the track team and run sprints. I made varsity my freshman year and was named Most Valuable Player my sophomore and junior year. In addition, I earned Outstanding Track Athlete my junior year. I enjoy running and I enjoy being a leader for my teammates. I run the 200 meter, 100 meter, 4 x 100 meter and 4 x 400 meter. My fastest 100 meter so far is 12.52, and my fastest 200 meter is 26.04.
I have learned a lot during my years in sports, although the most important thing I've learned is that hard work, dedication and faith allow me accomplish my goals. As I look forward to my final season in high school, I have set goals to break my personal records. I have already begun training so that I start the season in the best shape of my life. In addition, I want to continue to bring my grade point average up, and I know this will happen through dedication and hard work as well. I currently have a 3.65 GPA, but I know I can raise that a little higher this year.
