My name is Tia Cooke, I am a senior at Silverado High School in Victorville, California. My average GPA that I have worked hard for over the years is a 3.87. Not only do I work hard when it comes to my course work, but I also show conviction in track and field. I have been competing in track since I was 12 years old, and have been in love with the sport ever since. Therefore, I have sought to participate at the collegiate level
I have been on the varsity team each time I joined track. This year I am the girl’s varsity captain, every day I try to present examples of leadership to the team along with perseverance. I am a self-motivator who never gives up on anything or myself. I have powerful jumping legs in long and triple jump due to my consistent training. I also adapt well to different styles of coaching and am willing to work with any coach that will not only allow me to retain my self-motivation but to encourage me as well.
Not only do I maintain a great GPA, but I am also the president of the Interact (community service) Club. I am involved in many school activities due to the Associated Student Body (ASB). This reveals that not only do I work hard and push myself on the field; but that I understand that I need good grades to stay in competition.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the track. I am open to many options that match the highest level of competition possible for me.
I will be sure to not let my future coaches down as I work rigorously towards my aspirations. I hope to continue portraying a role as a leader to my peers and a great athlete to my family and coaches.
