My family and sports have influenced who I am today and what my future will become. I am striving to become a collegiate runner and student athlete with a desire to study in the field of nursing. I am a caring and compassionate person and know I will be able to help make a difference in people's lives through a nursing career. Running for me started in seventh grade and I have participated in cross country and track since then. At first running was just a fun thing to do and came easy to me. Upon entering high school I realized it takes perseverance if you want to do well as a student athlete. Participation in competitive mountain biking and soccer has helped me cross train and apply my strengths to all my sports. I have become a well rounded runner over the years with both physical and mental strength and I am determined to contribute to make our team strong. Also, I feel that I will be a strong asset to my team because of my positive attitude and encouragement given to my teammates. I love our high school team motto “character is what you do when no one is looking” and feel I represent that while training for my sport and living the life of a teenager. The commitment and determination put forth in my classes and my running will help me to obtain my goal to become a collegiate student athlete.
