Carolyn Weisman '17 Recruiting Profile

My name is Carolyn Weisman and I am a jumper at San Marcos High School (grad. year 2017). My primary events are triple jump and long jump. My current PR in triple jump is 38'3.50" and 16'5.50" in long jump. I began jumping at a very young age due to influences from my relatives. I did not begin competing, however, until my Freshman year of high school. It wasn't until the end of my Sophomore year that I realized I was better than I had previously thought. At the end of my Sophomore year, I had advanced to CIF Finals in Cerritos,  achieved the Sophomore record for triple jump at my high school,  and also ranked in the top ten triple jumpers at my high school. Moving into Junior year I continued to grow as a jumper and PR'd in both my primary events. By the end of Junior year, I had advanced to CIF Masters and ranked 2nd in triple jump in my school's history. I have had a love for track and specifically jumping since I was very young and it has driven me to improve my form and speed through my high school career. I also fell in love with track because of the team aspect and have created such strong bonds because of it. By the end of my Senior year in high school, I predict that I will jump 39' in triple jump and 17' in long jump. By the end of my Senior year in college, I believe I could jump 40'+ in triple jump and 18'+ in long jump. Although jumps are my primary focus, I have also competed in the 200M and 4x400 relay. Freshman year I recorded a split time of 60.0 seconds and I believe I have the potential to be an asset in jumps as well as sprints.
