Tiernan Hebron '11 Recruiting Profile

I have always enjoyed running, but I began to compete in track during middle school. I am a competitor, and being a competitor has driven me to run varsity since my freshman year. I earned the top sprinter award both my freshman and sophomore year. I will never forget coming from behind as the anchor in my 4x400 team and winning the league title last year. As I enter my junior track season I will continue to offer support to every member of my team and to encourage them to compete to the best of their abilities. I will show leadership by my discipline in training and by exceling in my performance in track. I've always wanted to run at the collegiate level. This is an experience I have been training hard for and would prize all my life. Although I would prefer a school on the west coast, I am open to any D1 or D2 school that offers both the education and athletic programs that I wish to pursue. I am interested in culture, gender, and ethnic studies, as well as journalism. I also enjoy languages and want to become multilingual. Like most athletes I want to compete at the highest level, but I want to run rather than sit, and my choice in either a D1 or D2 school will reflect my passion for running.
