Cassandra Abelar '17 Recruiting Profile

5th grade was the first steps to my growing love for running. I had ran the 400m and the first ribbon I got I had placed 6th, ever since then my passion for running grew stronger and stronger, my goals for running grew higher and higher and at this point in my life I don't see track absent in my future. I have seen myself grow not only physically but spiritually and I have trained my mind to persevere and keep going even when I fall, running is my safe haven when I need a breather and also my inner beast, when it comes down to business, I'm as fierce as a tiger.  I strive to pursue Psychology as well as Communications in college. I have come a long way, through the sweat and tears, the shin splints and the twisted ankles, the heartbreaking defeats and the PR's and I am ready for more in the next 4 years of my life after high school. I am not a quitter and I will never let myself be, I am a people-person and academically driven but not only am that but I am a 400m runner who actually enjoys it, no matter how badly my legs burn afterwards.
