In my seven years of playing competitive soccer and five years of running track, I have learned how to set goals and push myself hard enough to exceed my own expectations. I work hard both on and off the track by attending extra training sessions for speed and agility, sprinting and weight training and spend hours studying for my classes. I take pride in the fact that coaches have complimented me on being, "one of the most coach-able athletes they have trained." I work extremely hard, like being challenged and I will make sacrifices to achieve my goals. I have found that running and being part of a team helps me remain balanced in my life especially since other areas don't come as easy. I have always struggled with reading and in 8th grade I was diagnosed with Dyslexia. My diagnosis has been a great blessing for me, it has taught me that with hard work, family and school support I can accomplish anything academically. I currently have a cumulative GPA of 3.82, with the hope of increasing it. In my free time, I enjoy playing guitar, drawing/painting, babysitting, playing with my dogs, hanging out with my friends, spending quality time with my family and being a peer mentor for students with special needs. This school year I am also participating in the Student Athletic Training program after school.
This year as a senior, I hope to make it in the top 6 at the CA State Meet and improve my times for each event. I hope to find a college that offers an academic and athletic program that provides me an opportunity to strive on the track and in the classroom.
