My name is Ekta Hope Geisinger. I was born in America, and raised in India. I moved back to the US about 6 months ago. I am a junior at Grossmont High School. I want to study Biochemistry and perhaps become a Biology professor or a Biochemist. I initially started out track knowing that I loved to run but was planning on using it to help me with speed and endurance for soccer. I have been playing soccer since I was 6 years old and have represented my state three times and started for the U-16 Indian National team in the Asian Football Confederation's (AFC) Asian Cup qualifying round in Amman, Jordan. Even through these achievements, this past track season changed everything for me. I instantly fell in love with the sport and my love only increased with each day. I dropped 4 seconds throughout this past season and I am assured to drop 4 or more seconds by the end of next season, since I am still a beginner. I won many races in my league and made it to Varsity League Finals and am currently placed 4th in valley/hills of our district. I have the drive and passion to become better and better, and I know that through my hard work and consistency that my goal will be achieved.
