Personal Statement

Juaneeq is the name, I am a senior at Northview High school, Some of the many things I am involved in are, Varsity cheer (captain): three years competition team, four years all american nominee Why america needs cheerleaders award, two years all american finalist, individual leadership award, two years "most spirited" award, Varsity track: 300 meter hurdle finalist; San Gabriel Valley Championship, 5th in league; 300 meter hurdles, Varsity letterman in Cheer leading, and Track & Field, Drama participant, Taco Bell employee, Work leader, church volunteer, AP/Honors classes, Yearbook Sports/Life Styles Editor, Talent Show Host (2010), Numerous amount of clubs,(including presidency in two) with many other to follow. I describe myself as well rounded student, and athlete, who's spirit and perseverance shines wherever I go! I am currently 5'5, I weigh 116. The events I compete in are: 100M Hurdles, at my fastest time of 18.34, 300M Hurdles: 50.2, I also run the 200M dash: 28.8, and I occasionally jump the long jump, and triple jump: jumping a 13.1 in long, and a 26.4 in triple. I consider myself a leader in many ways, always putting my best foot forward, and stepping up to ANY challenge given, at any expected time! I would like to attend a school preferably in California, but Florida, Nevada, and New York would satisfy me. The type of school I am looking for is a big, athletic/academic based school. I am fine with any division school, where my times are appreciated. My desired major is Broadcast Journalism, or simply Journalism would be fine. My athletic goals are to run track staring my freshman year, the division isn't necessarily more important than my college education. My biggest desire is to have a successful college career regardless if I run at a DI or DIII school. College is not just "school" to me. It is a place that lets my imagination, and dreams run wild! It is somewhere where I can be free, and escape the anguish in everyday life. I would be a good college student because In my heart I know I would push through all the triumphs, and tribulations. Giving college ALL that I have to offer, and in no means willing to look back. I know I will work my hardest, and never once having it feel as an obligation. Being in college would be the most incomparable experience in my life, it would help me stay focused on my God given talents. Just making it that much easier for me to achieve all I can do, to make my family, my teachers, friends, counselors and of course ME, Proud & appreciative of my diligence, and determination!
