Maya English '16 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Maya English I'm currently a Senior in High School. I strongly believe in the importance of  leadership within school, my community, and Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts have taught me various assets that have helped me become a better team mate and leader. By participating in community service and volunteering as a gymnastics coach I've learned various skills that have helped me up together my Gold Award, the highest award in Girl Scouts. My Gold Award titled EngineerHer focuses on the lack of woman in STEM related industries. Along with the skills that I've learned, Girl Scouts has given me various leadership opportunities. For example I was selected as a National Council Delegate for GSGLA and represent 40,000 Girl Scouts in Los Angeles and I'm also one of ten girls on the Girl Scout National Girl Advisory Board. In the future I hope to find a way to change the world whether through math and science or through sports. I believe that I would be a good candidate for any team because I'm willing to work hard and love track and field.
