2013 HighlightsPersonal Statement
I'm Elena Patz and I've been swimming competitively for six years. I have qualified for WIAA Division 1 State in 6 different events (100Y Fly, 200Y IM, 500Y Free, 200Y Medley Relay, 200Y Free Relay & 400Y Free Relay). I was named All-State Honorable Mention in the 100Y Fly twice. I was a two year captain, All-Area 1st Team as a junior and All -State as a senior. I'm a two time Sectional champion in the 100Y Fly and have been named MVP three years in a row. I currently hold the school records in the 100Y Fly, the 200Y IM and the 500Y Free. At the 2013 State meet I finished 5th in the 100Y Fly and 9th in the 200Y IM. Since I haven't been swimming as long as some, my goal is to find a college team that will help me continue to drop time and reach a higher level of success.
I was the 2013 club state champion in the 200Y Fly and have achieved NCSA qualifying times in the 100Y and 200Y Fly events. I hold a majority of my club's records and have recently been named to the Scholastic All-America team for the second time.
In addition to swimming, I've experienced success in academics, forensics, music and theatre. I have qualified for state in forensics and vocal performance every year and have been named an Exemplary Soloist in the State of Wisconsin. I've been chosen for both the All-State and Wisconsin Honors Choir and have maintained my Superior Honor Roll standing since freshman year. I hope to study Athletic Training or Kinesiology in college, while swimming and continuing with my love of music and acting.
