Personal Statement

Thank you for taking the time to visit my page and to learn more about me today. My name is Parker Stedman, and I am 14 years old, getting ready to enter my freshman year of high school at Waunakee High School, in Waunakee, WI. I have been playing lacrosse since the third grade, and after my family, my friends, and my schooling, lacrosse has become one of the most important things in my life.

If my family, teachers, and coaches were asked to describe me in three words they would say that I am relentless, unselfish, and kind. These three characteristics, along with many more, have allowed me to grow and learn as a person, a student, and an athlete. I pride myself in ALWAYS giving 100% to the task in front of me, whether it be an important school project or test, or preparing mentally and physically for a big game.

My life goals are large, and I still have a lot to learn, but I am committed to doing everything I possibly can to those goals to fruition. I have taken the time to consider the schools that will best meet my academic needs, and then I have taken time to look at those school’s lacrosse programs. I think it is very important to find a college or university that allows myself, the school, and the lacrosse program to all be the right fit. Throughout the next four years I am dedicated, and determined, to become an even better student-athlete, and if I do that I know that no school or coach will fail to see me as a tremendous asset to the school and the team.

Thank you again for your time, and I am excited to begin forming relationships with you while learning more about different schools, and lacrosse programs, throughout the country.

Parker is steadily growing in size, his skills are improving in all aspects of his game. Importantly, his willingness to work beyond required practice will help reinforce to his teammates his commitment to winning and the emphasis on fine tuning his skills. His stick skills are very high for his age, he is very comfortable in any situation on the field, with a stick and ball, always plays with his eyes up, for good decisions.

He is a smart lacrosse player who plays well off-ball, knocking down passes and picking up ground balls. This plays to his Lacrosse IQ, and that he knows where to be positioned (in the passing lanes). Ground balls are also a huge part of the game and is mostly effort, which Parker clearly displays.I think the biggest area for improvement with Parker is simply just becoming more vocal as a defender. With his lacrosse IQ, having him as a vocal director of a defense will be of great service to his team in the future. I hope to see him again next year.
