Emily Farrar '11 Recruiting Profile

I LOVE TO SWIM!!! Swimming is my favorite sport and I want to pursue it throughout college. I have been on my high school's swim team for two years. I am 5'2" and weigh about 135 lbs; my main races are 100 butterfly, 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and 200 IM Relay. I'm taking two AP classes and an honor class, also I have a job which I work 15-24 hours a week. Right now I'm in the National Honor Society at my school and next year I'm planing to try out for team captain. After college, before I settle down, I want to join the Peace Corps, try to help people, maybe teach kids that can't go to school. A couple years ago I volunteered with my family to help raise money for poor families and orphans in the less fortunate countries; we helped get windows for orphanages, and give money to under privileged families to get purchase livestock. I would like to go to a college in the western area so I'm not too far away from home, but I am open to any colleges with swim teams that would give me the opportunity to swim for them. I am Catholic, so I would be interested in both Christian and other colleges or universities. I want to be a teacher for my career, mostly high school level. I really want to swim in college, I want to compete, and I want to win.
