I was always told "Don't worry about college. You make the grades and we'll figure out how to pay for it." I'm a realistic girl. I know my parents don't have a lot of money. I know money doesn't grow on trees, but I also know that I can't just sit back and expect things to happen. If I want something bad enough, I need to work hard to get it.
In December 2016, I watched my mom graduate from college. I saw all of her HARD work and struggles growing up. That's when I decided I want to pitch in and do my part by putting my academics first. I am an all A honor roll student, a member of the National Junior Honor Society, and left my middle school at the top 10% of my class. Now I am beginning my freshman year at the Early College High School at South Grand Prairie High. I am in all PAP classes, while taking college credits and swimming on the swim team. My end goal is to become a nurse. So during this process, I am trying find a college with a nursing program and a swim team.
My swim obsession began when I was 10. My parents and I were watching the 2012 Olympic Swim Trials, and I said, "That's what I want to do." I saw the swimmers making the magic happen and I have been enhanced ever since. I enrolled in swim lessons the very next week and have been swimming ever since. I've made it to the Summer Games of Texas State Championship 3 times. I try my hardest to keep up with the best swimmers there are to improve myself and get on the right path of my life's journey.
