As long as I can remember, I have loved the pool. There are pictures of me jumping off of the diving board and swimming at 9 months old. Then, when I was 5 years old, I begged my mom to let me try out for a swim team. You could say, from that moment on, I was hooked. I played soccer, was a gymnast and took dance lessons; but, nothing kept my interest like swimming. Swimming in college has been a lifetime goal of mine; and, I am looking forward to making that dream a reality.
As a member of a collegiate swim team, I look forward to developing a good working relationship with my coach so I am able to improve both my technique and my times. I would like to increase the amount of training I do both in and out of the pool because I believe that would allow my level of swimming to greatly improve. I am also eager to become an integral part of a supportive and close knit women's team. And, of course, I want to do my best academically in order to be well prepared for law school.
Swimming for my club has taught me to be goal orientated, disciplined and to challenge myself so that I may reach my full potential. My coaches have relied on me to not only be a supportive and positive teammate; but, to also be a team leader who exudes confidence, not arrogance. Therefore, I am very excited at the prospect of contributing as much as I can both athletically and academically to the program I represent.
