Danielle Zimmerman '16 Recruiting Profile

As a collegiate athlete I plan on furthering my swimming training and working hard during my four years in college to see how far I can push myself as an athlete. In the pool I am a hard worker, when I set a goal for myself I will not stop until I achieve my goal. When it comes down to race time, I am a tough competitor and love to race. Aside from loving to work hard in the pool I also cherish the relationships I share with my teammates, over my past seven years of swimming I have come to realize that my teammates are my extended family. Everyday after school I don't only look fiesta to getting in the pool and getting faster, but seeing my teammates who make practices exciting. A team is around each other to push each other and to support each other. I look froward to swimming at a collegiate level and sharing this bond with a new team. On both of my swim teams, club team and high school team, I am a captain. I am a leader and choose to lead by example. I am always around to encourage my other teammates. Outside of the pool I excel in the classroom. I love learning new material and participating in class. What makes me stand out from the rest of the crowd is that I am a determined athlete. Not only determined to reach my goals, but also determined to encourage my teammates to reach their goals. Whether it is getting myself through a tough practice, or cheering a teammate on during a race, or helping a teammate get through a tough set by giving them some words of encouragement, I am always determined.
