Personal Statement

I am Alexis Dobrzynski and my goal is to become the best swimmer that I can be, be happy with my accomplishments, and to help others succeed in the pool. Swimming has meant a lot to me throughout my life. It has given me motivation to dream big; you never know what you can become if you don't reach for the sky. My goal is to swim well in high school and help the girls on my team gain confidence in their abilities. A dream of mine is to swim in college; after college, I would love to be involved in the swimming community as a coach. Another goal of mine is to complete school with good grades and head off to college knowing that I did the best that I could in high school. Currently, I hope to become a physical therapist in my future. I want to help people find health through exercise. Exercise is one of the most important things in my life; it has given me friendship with people who have similar values to mine, has helped me strive to become the best person that I can be, and has led me to dream big.

  • 2012 Black Dog Swimming (Gold/ Platinum)
  • 2011 Black Dog Swimming (Gold/ Platinum)
  • I broke my 3 bones in my foot and was forced out of the pool for 6 weeks during high school season. This happened at the beginning of the season. However, I trained hard on land for the time I was out; I did not miss a single practice. At the end of that high school season I still ended up racing well at sections and participated on the relay teams at high school state. Ever since this injury my backstroke has changed. I have been working on ways to get it back to its pre-injury speed since the day I got back in the pool.
