I have been swimming competitively at varsity level for the past three years at my high school. Previously I swam for the Hong Kong Island Stingrays in HK. My two main events are the 200 Free (best time 2:20) and the 100 Free (1:06). I also assist for the 100 Fly even though it is not one of my main events and have previously done 100 Back and 50 Free. I love swimming because it's a good stress reliever and I love my team.
I am particularly interested in studying media and communications. I am currently taking a playwriting course in school which is my favorite course this semester. Last summer, I attended the School of Creative and Performing Arts (SOCAPA) Film program where I took a college credit class in writing, producing and editing. I am currently enrolled in a Video as a Visual Arts Course. I am also a writer for the Arts and Features sections of The Bridge, (my school newspaper), the South China Morning Post's Young Post in Hong Kong and have participated in the Newsroom by the Bay program in San Francisco. I am also the Social Media editor and an active member of Gemini, my school's yearbook.
I have been studying French for pretty much most of my life. I attended the French American International School - a bilingual French and English school (Francophile American system of learning) for Elementary school. When I moved to Hong Kong (age 11), I spent a year at the French International School into a culturally French school system. I studied French as a second language at Northfield Mount Hermon in high school. I am planning on taking beginning Arabic in my senior year.
I have been interning Eden Ministry and Integrated Brilliant Education Trust (IBET), an educational support program for Ethnic minority students in Hong Kong. I am also a part of the Big Brother Big Sister program, where I take care of my little every Friday night. Additionally, I am a member of several clubs like Operation Happy Birthday and others.
