Swimming has been an influential part of my life from the age of five and I want to pursue it at the collegiate level to continue the positive impact it has had on me. In college I plan to build on my strengths as a swimmer, become immersed in a tight-knit team atmosphere, and be fully engaged in team activities. I was recently voted captain by my teammates for my senior season, and I understand the positive impact that swimmers with the right commitment can have on the success of the team. My high school career has been highlighted by receiving all-conference and all-sectional recognition all three years, being part of an all-state and all-American relay team in 2012, and placing 15th individually in the 200 FR in 2014. I am committed to continuing these successes at the college level by putting in the work at practice and meets.
In addition to my desire to swim competitively at the college level, I am looking for a school that will provide a challenging academic environment. I am currently taking a rigorous class schedule including AP classes, and have maintained my rank in the top 2% of my class. On top of swimming every day for either my high school or club team (Lyons Swim Club), I also coach one of the younger groups three to four nights a week. I believe that this current schedule has taught me how to manage my time commitments effectively and prepared me for the the challenges of being a college student athlete. I am open to any schools that will provide these opportunities and I look forward to communicating with and meeting with coaches to confirm that we are the right fit for each other.
