I want to get the most I can out of college swimming and education. I want to make a difference and add to the team and to the school that fits me the best. I want to be able to compete and be able to continue to improve on my times and technique on the team that I am apart of. If I can't compete and add to a team, I don't see the point of being on one. I am currently the team captain of my club swim team and I have become comfortable leading and being a role model to the others on my team. I believe that my leadership abilities would add greatly to the team that I would be apart of. I am extremely dedicated to swimming and all the hardships and pain that come with that dedication. I don't see swimming as a choice but rather as a constant in my life.
I take the same dedication in my swimming and add it to my academics, I am extremely hard on myself in that department and work as hard as I can to learn and grow as a student. I am interested in many, many different subjects and push myself equally in all of them.
I am a very humble person and shy at first, but once you get to know me I am very outspoken, funny, and am not afraid to speak my mind or stand up for my beliefs.
As a part of my current club team, I want everybody to have the same experiences that I have had and find the inspiration and love for swimming that I have had the luck to grab. Part of the reason that I wanted to become team captain was to ensure that all the members of the team could be able to experience the friends, memories, and accomplishments that I have had the fortune to experience. I want every one to find that spark of inspiration and commitment that I have and be able to improve and grow themselves as swimmers and as people, something that I think I could apply to my new team in college.
