My goals and aspirations as I prepare to get ready for moving on from High School to college and beyond are to find the right school that can help me with both academic pursuits and to swim on a women's swim team that has the potential to work hard and swim fast in meets and competitions nationwide. I really want to be in a service field, such as teaching, so I can give back and help others learn to achieve more and do their best in school and athletics. I love math and science and enjoy volunteering my time at the local club/park with the kids camps and learning programs. I love to swim and have been doing that on club teams for over 8 years. I am very good as a back-stroker, free-styler and IM-er, and I want to continue to swim in 100, 200 & 400 events. My hope is to break the Rancho Bernardo High School record in the 100 back this season coming up.
What makes me a great candidate for the right team is that I communicate and collaborate well with my coaches and my team mates. I have a positive attitude and I stay with my team mates to always support them in their events. I love the bond of the girl's I swim with and we push each other to do better all the time. We laugh and cry together and we have fun, while at meets and in our social circles. I love to keep my team smiling and we are silly at times so we can share the laughs and smiles. I have been going to practice 6 days a week at 9 practice sessions per week, including lots of dry land also. I have been determined and committed to this sport since I started at the age of 8. I work each day to improve myself so others can see how I prove to them that I am good and want to get better. By picking me, you get a student and athlete that is committed and determined to do her best, and more, every day.
What makes me different from the other recruits is that I am very happy and positive about my communications and interactions with my coaches and team mates. I am very supportive and I am dedicated, as my past and current involvement shows. I make the time and have the drive to push myself and my team to succeed. I am a fun and loving person who really cares about how I do, how others see me and the status of other swimmers. I am supportive and I show up and get involved. I am fun loving and willing to go out of my way to help others. I really love math and science and hope that I can strive in those areas of study and hopefully teach that and more to others later in life, and still swim and compete. Before I am ready to teach others, I want to be somewhere I can swim fast, break into new and better times and get a great education along the way. I hope that the right school and coach and I can connect to work out the best plan to go forward.
Thank you,
Samantha Morris
