I have always had a passion for swim and a love for the water. My choice to become a competitive swimmer derives from my innate abilities as an athlete in and out of the pool. I started swimming competitively at the age of 11. Once I began high school, I wanted to try a new sport and joined my high school’s club water polo team. I enjoyed and excelled at water polo, but there was something inside me that always drew me back to swim. The beginning of my junior year, I decided to commit myself full time to swim and rejoined my club team. I feel like I have learned from this experience and grown as a person and a swimmer. I had to work twice as hard to improve my swim technique, build stamina and gain racing experience. I was able to increase my time in the pool and the weight room, which has helped me to advance in technical things like breakouts, flip turns, and finishes. My hard work and dedication this year has helped me become a stronger swimmer and has prepared me to compete competitively in college.
