My name is Allie Klinger and I just started my junior year at Heritage High School. I am looking for an institution where I can find the right balance between the classroom and the pool. My ideal athletic environment would be one where I could quickly make an impact and contribute to the teams success. I would like to pursue a college that has broad academic diversity and a respectable academic reputation. I tend to gravitate toward the warmer environments but would consider any opportunity at this time. My swimming goals are to continue to progress steadily and ultimately qualify for Olympic Time Trials. I am a versatile swimmer and I know that I can offer any team success in individual events as well as relay events. My most recent greatest accomplishment was at the 2014 Far Western LCM Championship where I won the 50m Free. I took .87 off my seed time to qualify for finals and another .49 to win with a time of 26.86. I am also very proud of how I performed in the 100 Fly and 100 Free where I made finals. I love to train hard and am looking forward to a promising short course season with the Terrapins Swim Team in Concord California.
Besides swimming, I am an avid reader and love to write short stories. I also, trained my Labrador Retriever, Deedee, to become a certified therapy dog. I became a licensed handler, and have had the honor and pleasure of taking her to hospitals and convalescent homes. Although I have not chosen a specific major I am exploring the idea of studying biological sciences and nursing. I plan to secure a challenging career that will one day help my community. I want to prepare to live my life with the advice that my first coach once told me; "Train and race like a champion".
