As an extremely competitive person, I want to be the best at everything I do. This competitive spirit translates both on and off the field, whether it be in the classroom, during a practice, or participating in a game with friends. I expect the same competitiveness from my teammates. I'm not focused solely on my individual growth, but the growth of the team as well. If teammates aren't pushing themselves, they are not giving the best competition to the rest of the team. Always being the best I can be tends to bring out the best in others. After all, nobody enjoys losing!
As I'm always striving to get better, I take constructive feedback from coaches and teammates well and apply it as soon as possible.
Another thing that makes me standout as a player is my tactical ability. My high soccer IQ allows me to play quickly as I often have a good idea of what I'm doing before I receive the ball. I'm also extremely versatile: I have an equally strong right and left foot and can play any field position, although my natural and preferred position is attacking center midfielder, which allows me to (according to my coach) "carve up defenses with an incisive pass." Still, I am a strong finisher so sometimes play forward, and I also play holding center mid and center defense at times depending on team needs.
I am looking to play at a school with strong (Nationally top 40 +/-) academics with a competitive soccer program. Most schools that fit my academic criteria are D1, but I am open to considering a few selective academic DIII schools.
