Joanne Torres '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Joanne Torres, a sophomore at Meadowbrook Highschool in Chesterfield, Virginia. I am seeking the opportunity to continue my  pursuit of my two biggest passions, education(I'd like to pursue my goal of becoming a dentist) and soccer.  Currently, I am a member of the varsity soccer team at Meadowbrook; It will be my second season on the varsity soccer team. As a freshman I was able to start all 16 games as a forward and was also able to score 10 goals and provide 5 assists; Due to my efforts, I was named a second team all conference (forward) player as a freshman. In addition to being a member of the varsity team, I am also a member of the International Baccalaureate program, which is focused on providing a unique, rigorous liberal arts education to select groups of students throughout the world. Due to my meticulous tasks as a student athlete, I feel that my characteristics have shaped me into being focused, dedicated, and compassionate not only on the field, but also in the classroom. I, personally, tend to go out of my way to be the best I can be and exceed expectations no matter the situation. Therefore, I believe I am a good candidate because I work hard for my goals no matter the obstacles or situation, because I am used to the pressure academically and athletically, and I know that I am capable of overcoming challenges that I am encountered with.
