Jocelyn Ryan '20 Recruiting Profile

 From the time I was three I remember my dad being my coach and teaching me how to pass. By the time I was 10 I was playing competitively and was a team leader and played since the beginning. I got many complements and tips from my coaches and trainers to move to a more competitive league where there was more  challenges and more girls at my competive level. That year I moved to Puerto Rico and played for my school jv team as an 8th grader. I played for a travel team two. The time period when I lived in Puerto Rico I developed as a team player and as finding myself as my own player. In 2017 I got an offer to be on the national team but sadly had to move back to Virginia later that year. This summer I was able to coach and train children and I realized how fast time was passing ,and Now that I'm a  sophomore in high school I'm realizing that college is right around the corner. And my dream is to play at a Colgate level. I think what makes me a good player and diffrent from other is that I have different experiences in places that not everyone has had the opportunity to play in. Also I am a team player and always leading the team and staying positive. lastly I've stayed with this sport and I'm determined to see my dreams come true at a Colgate level. My character as a player and as a person is very positive and I love teaching and learning new things. Also I am a very determined person so I am always wanting a challenge. Academically I struggle in mathematics, but in everything else I am a very strong student. I study and stay focused in my work so that I can reach the gpa I need to be at.
