I've always wanted to reach for the skies. All my life I've dreamed about playing for national selections, prestigious clubs, and college teams. As of now, my biggest dream is to hold my island's name high by playing at the most competitive levels possible. I would say that the main sources of my over-achieving personality are my parents. Neither of them came from very prominent families, yet they've always fought vigorously to reach their goals and dreams. Their example has taught me that I should do the same.
I became interested in soccer once my family moved across the island in search of a better lifestyle. Moving from a sleepy corner of the island to a more developed and Americanized city exposed me to many new things, such as soccer and the English Language. I was forced to overcome language barriers and stereotypes concerning how well a Puerto Rican could do in an almost completely American school. Due to league rules concerning when students should be allowed to play, I didn't get to play on any official teams until my second year of Junior High in which I picked up Cross Country, Soccer, Track and Field, and Softball. While playing, I've learned the true meaning of commitment, leadership, and teamwork. I was chosen as captain in my second year of soccer as an eight grader in a team composed primarily of freshmen. As an excelling, four-sport student-athlete I am extremely confident I would make a great pick for your college team.
