Veronica Zaciek '13 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Veronica. I have been playing club soccer since I was four. I am currently 17. I am very athletic, it comes naturally. I am very easy to teach, and love to push myself passed the fullest. I believe that it is all mental and you just have to push yourself through the hardest times to get the best times. My heart and soul is in this game, it's more than just a game to me. Currently at my high school we do not have a soccer team, period. So while other teammates of mine from club are in their season, I'm out of mine. I keep up with my skills and endurence(my fastest mile is a 6:03) in volleyball & soccer camps that I attend about three times a month at Superkicks in Delaware. I am also taking this summer(2012) to complete a 125,000 touch challenge within 60 days. I am also going to Superkick for 1 on 1's two times a week. Sometimes I feel like this is a down fall for me to be out a season, but other times I don't because I meet new people and know the different types of competition there is out there and I don't learn bad habits. My best achievement while playing is probably my front-flip throw-in I can do and how fast I am. This is such an advantage during a game situation when we are down by the goal and need a big throw. I'm a little girl, but put up a good fight. I'm 5'3, weigh about 118, and can run a 100 in 12-13s and a 50 in 5-6s. I play on two different club teams, Arsenal (played with them my whole life) and Crew Gold (this will be my third year with them). My Arsenal team has came in second in most Tournaments we go to. The Crew is a more high speed game that makes myself more aware of the game. I am a very good leader and show TONS of sportsmanship, while the game is going on and while it isn't. It has ALWAYS been my dream to play at Ohio State and continue on from there because I grew up as a buckeye fan and always enjoyed watching games and getting fired up at the chant of the fight song. My second choice would either be Baldwin-Wallace or UT. I want to go to a big school like Ohio State or even a good size like Baldwin-Wallace. I want to Major at OSU with a Degree for Veterinary Studies, and my minor to be in photography(preferrably in sports/animals) or become a soccer coach. I know that it is a hard world out there, but I believe in myself and hope for the best.
