Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Danielle Chirdon, Danie is what everyone calls me though, and I am a very active high school athlete. I have played soccer since I was 8 years old and will continue playing until I'm too old to run. I am going to be a senior this coming year and plan to further my education getting a degree in Environmental Studies or Political Science, then apply to law school. I have been taking advanced courses to prepare myself for the challenges ahead. I have no strict school specifics but would like to stay in Ohio or in a close state. I think a smaller school may fit me better but I am still interested in all successful academic schools. Currently I am a three sport athlete, competing in soccer, basketball and track. Track has helped me stay in shape and improve my speed. I have held a starting position on the varsity soccer team since my freshmen year and my Jr. year I received the 2nd Team All- League award and MVP for my team. I believe one of my strongest qualities is leadership; I was chosen captain of the varsity soccer team and varsity basketball team this past year. I come ready to work and improve everyday doing what ever it takes. I like to score, as everyone does, but will do what is best for the team. I have a good knowledge of the game and can adapt my play to different types of games. I have also played on a club team, Xtabi, for two years and like the higher level of competition. In 2009, I received the Player of the Match award during the championship game at the MASC tournament. I work hard everyday to make myself better in some way, whether it is practice, lifting or running. I am currently 5 ft.3 in. tall, weigh 132 lbs, run the 100-meter dash in 13.9 seconds, bench 130 lbs, squat 230 lbs, and my vertical jump is 15 in. I want to be a member of a team that is willing to work hard to succeed and I'll do my part in making that happen.
