In my life, I have always had a passion for soccer. My drive and determination for the sport has only increased. The feeling I have when I am playing, whether it be by practicing by myself, with my team, or in a game, is unlike any other. My work ethic, leadership, and dedication has shaped me into the player I am today.
Work ethic is easily one of the most important things in a player. I have been told me countless times to never give anything less than all I have. And I hold myself to this high standard. Every time I have the opportunity to play I give it my best no matter what the circumstances are. With having a strong work ethic comes the ability to be coachable, another characteristic that I have. I love learning new things and putting them into to practice in order to move my level of play up and up.
Even playing an age level above my own and as a sophomore and freshman on my high school team, I have always been a leader. Both through actions and vocally, I help out my team. Being a leader is one of my most favorite parts of soccer. Having my teammates look up to me for help or encouragement is a great feeling. My work ethic makes me a leader by setting the tempo of practice and making the team work at our best. Overall this improves our game tremendously.
My dedication has played the biggest role in my success as a player. Dedication is much more than just going to every practice and being on time and other aspects like that. Although those things are very important, dedication to me is what you put in on your own to make you a better player. My work off the field, for example conditioning or practicing foot skills or shooting on my own, has put my ahead of many of my opponents.
I have always dreamed of playing soccer at the highest level I can, and I will not stop chasing that dream. I love being on the soccer grind and having to persevere through being tired or sore or any other obstacle I am faced with. My passion for soccer drives me to want to be the best I can be and I will never settle for anything less than that.
