My soccer journey didn’t begin on the top team at U9 when travel soccer started in my area. After the first night of tryouts for U9, I was told to not even bother coming back the next night. I came back anyway, and made the third team that second night. I’m very proud that every year I worked hard to get to the next level. I earned my way up to the second travel team, the first team, ECNL starter, and now DA starter. My experience with soccer taught me how to really focus on setting goals and then doing whatever it takes to achieve them.
At this point, I’m planning to take my love of soccer and focus on coaching and working with athletes as a career. I have a number of role models and mentors that have built careers coaching at the college and club levels and some that are running businesses focused on developing athletes. I believe that my focus on being a student of the game and what goes into building teams and elite athletes makes me an asset for any college soccer program.
As a player, I’d say that I’m extremely technical. My passing and soccer IQ allow me to control the midfield and effectively create opportunities for myself and others. My life isn’t just about soccer however. I’m involved at school with the SGA and enjoy being able to carve out time with my non-soccer friends as well.
