I believe in the end game. I do not believe in short-cuts, the easy way out, or exceptions to hard work. Four years ago, I started on the bottom club team. I worked extremely hard and was able to displace the top team's goalkeeper in two years. That same year, I made the LA 04 ODP team. Once I realized the level I was capable of playing at, I knew that I could achieve something greater. I set a goal before I left Region 3 camp last year that I would make the Region 3 Team in 2017. Goal met! I am the only field player or GK from the state of LA on the Region 3 roster. Now I have been invited to attend the US National Training Event in Phoenix in January of 2018. In short, in three years, and a lot of very, very hard work later, I moved from the lowest to the highest team.
Next goals? National camp roster for 04 ODP. Varsity roster at my 5A high school as a freshman. D1 College roster.
My end game begins every single day. I run distance. I run sprints. So I am the fastest out of the goal. I juggle every day (high juggling score-989) so I'm every bit as good as any field player with ball skills and footwork. I dive, I jump, I smother, I collapse, I distribute--every day. That's how I reach my goal being the best of the best.
I play on two teams for LA Fire in New Orleans. To do so requires me to drive over an hour each way to practice. It takes academic discipline. My GPA is a 4.0. I play in National League for 04 LA Fire Red and up two years with 02 LA Fire Red for Southern Regional Premier League, Gulf States Premier League and Louisiana Competitive League. I practice with both teams three times a week and do additional GK and technical training the other two days a week. That's how I get to my end game...D1 college soccer.
Why am I a good candidate for a college roster? I am coachable. I love to learn new skills and new ways to improve my game. I take direction seriously and make corrections when needed. My personality is easy going, but my keeper game is fierce. At 13 years old, I am 5'4" and am growing every day--physically and in my game.
I hope you'll help me achieve my end game. I'll be working at it every day--follow me on my journey as I post training videos and game videos along the way.
