I believe that being a part of a team is a valuable life experience. Playing soccer in college will better prepare me for the working world because I will be expected to meet goals, participate as a team member, and be accountable for my time and my actions.
I am confident in my abilities and refuse to give up in tough situations. I expect myself to lead my team to victories both on and off the field. It is important to be stern but not forceful when leading others.
The most important part of my decision is to make sure I am on the right team with the right core values and good chemistry. I want to play for a coach that wants to work well and care for the team.
Here is my biography statement:
I wanted to introduce myself and let you know of my interest in playing college soccer. I am a junior at Murray High School in Murray, KY. We are a Class -A small school with a rich tradition in academics and athletics. I have always been a Varsity starter and have been a part of one regional championships and 4 straight All –A State appearances.
I am team player that knows how to win. Our 2015 campaign was a very successful 22 win season that ended with a Region One Championship and a State Sweet 16 appearance. Our team is small in number and we were challenged with many injuries. I was asked to play several positions as a result of those misfortunes. My natural position is in the Mid-field. I see the field and can negotiate defenses effectively. I am not afraid of Defense as I am always ready to mix it up on the corner as an Outside Defender. Ultimately in tight games I would even play up to the wing and be asked to provide offense. My coaches trust me and know that I am the type that wants the ball in clutch situations. I’ve never seen a PK that I was afraid of and I love to bend it from the corner routinely. I had 2 corner kicks last season that I bent in and scored as a goal. Even though I played multiple positions, I was still second on the team in assist with 21. Our team managed to score 138 goals while only giving up 24. I was proud to help lead on both ends of that statistic from both the offensive and defensive sides of the field.
Currently, I am playing Club Soccer with Music City FC-’99. I have played travel ball for many years but have set out the last couple of years as I have and am a two sport athlete. My previous club team, Ky. Revolution, was very successful, but when our team broke up I decided to play AAU basketball for a couple of seasons. This year our Murray High Lady Tigers won the All-A state tournament and lost in the final 4 of the KHSAA State tournament. Even with the success of a 35-2 season I have known for a while that I am better prepared and am designed to play college soccer. Soccer has always been my first love and I want to continue at the next level.
I have been recognized by other coaches and my peers as a competitor and continue to play at a high level. My desire is to find a program that fits my skills, a coach and staff that cares for their players and their well-being, and a college or university that will challenge me and prepare me for my teaching career. At the end of this journey is my plan to teach internationally.
Thank you for taking time to read my biography, I look forward to learning more about you and your program.
