I have played soccer since I was 4 years old, and have loved it ever since. I played recreational soccer until I was in 3rd grade, and then I switched over to select playing with BFC MADCO. I played with MADCO for 3 years then switched over to Glen-ed. I had played with Glen-ed until last year when I made Gateway FC which was once BFC MADCO.
I went to St. John Neumann from pre-K to 8th grade. When I graduated from St. John Neumann, I switched over to Triad High School in Troy, IL for my freshman year. My freshmen year when I tried out for the soccer team, I only made the freshmen team. But, that did not stop me from working hard during practices and games. Unexpectedly, one day the JV/Freshmen coach asked to see me privately. He told me that one of the JV players had gotten hurt, and that he was bringing me up to replace her. Then eventually I worked my way up to starting JV.
My sophomore year honestly I was only expecting to make JV again, and I was fine with that. But, when the Varsity head coach posted the Varsity roster, I had made Triad's Varsity squad. I had gotten a good amount of playing time, and by the end of the year, at the banquet, my teammates voted me the most improved player of the year.
This year (junior) I am proud to say that I made my Varsity squad again, and I was named a starter. I hope to continue improving because it is only the beginning of the year. I hope to keep the tradition alive at Triad this year, and my senior year as well.
Academically, I have earned a 3.7 GPA out of 4.0, and have been in honors and AP classes since my freshmen year. My freshmen and junior year I was nominated by a teacher out of all of their students for a Student Appreciation Award. My sophomore year I was named as an Officer for the Student Service Club, and next year I am going to be the President of the club. Student Service club is a club for students to actively volunteer and raise money for their community. For example, every year we volunteer at the St. Louis Food Bank. Finally, I was inducted into the National Honors Society for my service, character, scholarship, and leadership.
My goal when I get to college is to grow and challenge myself both as a student and an athlete. I am different from other recruits because: I work harder and longer than anybody else, I go to extra training sessions to make sure I am the best I can be, and I am an active volunteer in my community.
