Alison Schmalz '12 Recruiting Profile

Ever since the age of four, soccer has always been a huge part of my life. Day after day the schedule is just eat, sleep, soccer and I love it. I have always dreamed of playing at the collegiate level and I am determined to make that come true. I currently am playing on the Chicago Sockers FC and in the spring I play for Schaumburg High School's Varsity team. My best position is outside defender, but I can play sweeper as well. Some of my strengths are head balls, my speed, and taking free kicks (pk, corner kicks, etc.) I am a highly competitive player and have a strong desire to play. My passion for the game gives me the motavation to drive and push myself to the next level. I am a hard worker and this year I was recognized as an All Conference player. I would love to play at the highest level of soccer someday and I am willing to do the work it takes to get there. Along with soccer, I also have strong work ethic in school. I try to maintain a grade point average of 4.0 or higher each semester. In thinking about what to do for the rest of my life, I have been tossing different majors around in my head and trying to figure out something that would be a fun career. I decided that I am looking to either major in athletic training or nutritional science. Soccer is my life and I think a career that involves working with sports is where I will find my most success.
