I have been playing soccer since I was 6 years old. I began playing soccer on my local Park Board team. In 2008 I joined our local travel soccer team, The Rock Island Futbol Club. I have played multiple positions during my time in travel club soccer. I have played forward and midfielder, before being moved to outside back defender. I currently also play soccer for my high school, The Rock Island High School Lady Rocks. I have been a varsity starter since my Freshman year. I have played mainly outside defensive or middle back. But I do have midfielder and a little forward experience also. I am also in Symphonic band during the our Spring semesters.
I am also in competitive swimming. I have been swimming since I was 8 years old. I began swimming and still swim during the high school off season with The Rock Island County Orcas. I have been on the Varsity high school swim team since my freshman year. My high school junior year I was elected as one of the Team Captains for our 2015 Varsity Swim Team season, and I am thrilled to say I am nominated to be a Team Captain again my Senior year, in 2016. I have gained valuable leadership skills and consider myself a team motivator and creative problem solver.
I also participate in Marching Band during the Fall semester, along with swim season. So I have learned how to manage my time and be detailed orientated. We travel and compete in competitions on the weekends in addition to marching on Friday nights during home football games. We are an award winning marching band. I play the clarinet and I was a section leader my Junior year and will be a section leader again my Senior year.
Academically I am currently ranked in the top 6% of my class and have taken multiple AP and Honors classes. I am a member of our schools Student Ambassadors, The National Honor Society and German Club. I am a Medal of Honor Recipient from the 2015-16 school year.
In college, I plan to major in Mass Media Journalism and possibly minor in English. I am highly interested in writing and producing a newscast or documentaries or even writing for a magazine or newspaper.
