Carolyn Richards '12 Recruiting Profile

I am a Junior from Orland Park. I am 5'6 and weigh 135 lbs. When I am timed for the 40 yard dash I run 5.2, but when I am in the moment in games I feel and look alot faster. I have been playing soccer since I was 8. I have come along way since then. When I was 11 and 12 I was the captain for chicago Inter and at 13 I was the co-captain. I was chosen for my leadership on the field and my hard work individually off the field. Ever since the day I started playing soccer I have wanted to take the sport as far as possible. I put about 4 hours a week of practice with my team not including games. On my own, I put in an extra 45 minutes a day lifting weights. On days without practice or games I spend at least 30 mins running and 25 mins with the ball. I would really like to go to a school that has a large student body. I am not sure yet what I would like to major in because I have so many intresets (Biology, Pschology, Literature, Crinimal Justice and many more) that I plan on choosing my major once I have found a school with the atmosphere and environment I like. I want to go to a school where I can help and play as soon as I get there. I want to be able to contribute once I get there. I am a very down to earth person so I have no problem taking criticism. As a player I don't believe in yelling at teammates on or off the field because I feel thats the coach's job. However, I do believe in giving advice and asking teammates to demand the best out of themselves because that's what I demand of myself. I try to play every game like it's my last.
