I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old. I began to play club soccer when I was 7 and have stayed with that team ever since. We, the Knockouts, have gone from just local girls to now representing 8 different high schools in the central Illinois area. As far back as I can remember I have wanted to play soccer at the collegiate level. I want to keep playing because I love this game. I am a very naturally competitive person and I want to keep improving and keep challenging myself. I feel the next step for me is the college level, however, as a high school player I want to take my team past the regional finals, where we lost in 4 overtimes last year, to the sectionals and beyond. A dream of mine is to lead this school farther than it has ever gone in the state finals. Normal West finished 3rd six years ago so we have our work cut out for us, but I believe we are set for a deep run in the playoffs this year. This year we made it the elite eight and lost to the eventual 4th place team in state. My intended field of study is education. My mom is a teacher who I have watched mold young minds and I have always thought that is what I was going to do as well. I hope to become a high school social studies teacher. My current social studies teacher is the best teacher I have had so far in school. He is such an insperation, and he has made me want to follow in his footsteps.
