I am looking to pursue an Exercise Science Bachelor of Science degree followed with a DPT degree. I am also interested in a Strength and Conditioning minor or certification and play intercollegiate soccer.
Academically, I am a senior at Lemont High School. I am a high honor roll student with a cumulative GPA of 3.9/4 and a weighted GPA of 4.4/5. I am part of the advanced math curriculum. I was nominated as the math student of the month in November 2013 while enrolled in AP Calculus BC. I was also a member of the Math Team. In addition to this rigorous course, I also took AP Physics B, Honors Chemistry, AP English and Honors German III. I will help my team sustain Academic Honors! This year, I am in AP Stats, AP English, and Honors German IV.
At the beginning of my junior year high school season, I tore my acl. I had surgery on April 29th and am in physical therapy at a sports rehabilitation center. I am working hard to comeback better and stronger than where I left. On October 13, 2014 I was released to full participation.
As a sophomore for the High School soccer team, I started in every game as center defensive midfield in a 3-5-2 formation.
Each year, Lemont plays Sandburg High School in Orland Park. In 2012 they made it to the Super-sectional round for the 3A division. Our team (2A) has not scored on them for 5 years and last year I personally scored 2 goals against them. The first was scored 5 minutes into the match on a set piece goal and the second was scored early in the second half on a corner kick from a bad clearance. The final score of the game was 3-2 (Sandburg won).
For club, I play on the Sockers FC Chicago NPL team and start the majority of the games as center forward in a 4-3-3 or 3-4-3 formation.
My strong point as a player is my ability to place the ball in dangerous scoring positions (through passes, crosses, shots). I am also considered to be one of the most aggressive and spirited players by my teammates and coaches. I never shy away from a challenge and utilize my size and strength.
My weak points as a player are my inability to judge a crossed ball and head it accurately and my inability to dribble my way out of tight spaces. I have been improving my foot skills indoors playing small-sided games. I generally arrive at practice 20-30 minutes and practice my skills with teammates.
In addition to soccer, I am very interested in crossfit training to help prepare me for the college level playing field and to personally build my strength. Prior to my injury, I went to a training facility called Core 1 which specializes in training elite athletes. On Saturdays I attended SPARQ (Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction and Quickness) Training with Kevin Ware. On days I did not have training, I went to the local gym to swim, lift and run.
