My whole life, I have always had the same two dreams; 1) become a Veterinarian and 2) play soccer in college and beyond. These two goals are closely linked when it comes to picking the right college for me. When in college, I hope to major in Biology, so I can achieve my goal of becoming a Veterinarian. School is my #1 priority and I enjoy pushing myself to be the best that I can be. This is reflected in school, by taking not only three AP classes which are, Pre Calculus, Language and Composition, and Physics, but also, Honors Pre Calculus and Accelerated Spanish 3, while maintaining a GPA of above 4.0. It is also reflected on the field, by pushing myself to make the ODP Region II Pool, Illinois ODP State team and help my team to be currently 3rd in the state.
My second goal is to play soccer in college and beyond. I am trying to make this dream a reality by driving forward and challenging myself, not only on the game field, but during practice as well. I am a forward and always have been, though I have been trained for all positions. My team tries to pull defenses up and then look for the seams and through balls to get behind them. I have been taught my whole life the difference between finishing and shooting, and I feel that I do a fantastic job at both. I am a leader on and off the field because I always come to play hard, usually stay in for the full 90 minutes and lead by example. I am a leader off the field because, not only do I pick my teammates up when they are down, but I push them to work harder.
When I am not playing soccer or finishing school work, I am always staying busy. I enjoy volunteering at Rising Sun Veterinary Clinic and working with the animals and doctors there. They really teach me a lot and give me the knowledge in which I will hopefully be able to use later in my life. I am also a part of a youth group at my church. We do a lot of service projects in order to help the less fortunate. In other words, I am doing things I love constantly. I will be graduating high school in 2019, and I'm looking forward to what comes next.
