Turbo, due to my speed was my first soccer nickname, at age ten. I’m still very fast, but over the years I’ve developed into a complete, highly skilled and competitive soccer player. I’m someone who has natural abilities and talents, but as I’ve matured I’ve gotten more motivated by pushing myself and seeing my skill improve and talents expand. Playing for both a travel team and the varsity team for a Chicago neighborhood school, I’m seen as the elite, impact player by coaches, parents and players. I'm a determined player who creates opportunities for myself and my teammates to score and create good plays. I value winning, but I recognized as our competition improved that our team success is based on Team work. As a sophomore this past year, I led our varsity high school team, which played in a competitive division, to its first ever division championship. Both on and off the field I’m seen as a strong leader, always expressing a positive attitude, motiving my team through encouragement and consoling teammates when we’ve lost or only played ninety percent. I know for my college team, I will continue to bring good values, great talent and strive as a team to accomplish the same goals.
As a student-athlete, I’m looking for both a soccer program and college experience which will continue to prepare to be a responsible leadership and citizen, improve my desire to learn and which will build on my values of hard work, team collaboration, and competition. At this time my geographic preference is to attend a Midwest college or university, but I’m also interested in schools in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. I’m also very open to playing for a Division I, II or III school. My High School curriculum has been very rigid so far, and I just haven’t found a particular field that really interests me. I want a well-rounded liberating education which will open my eyes to the many questions and issues of today. I’m confident that I will make an immediate impact and be a valued team member and student at the college that I attend.
