Anna Sheen '16 Recruiting Profile

My goal, since I was little, was always to go to college one day. As I discovered a love of soccer, my goal included continuing to play the game I love while getting a degree. While I consider myself undecided, I do have a passion for helping others and helping people feel better. I am considering nursing and chiropractic medicine as well as marine biology and the business world. I recently tried out for and made the Sockers FC. I will play in the NPL as well as the ECNL this fall season. I was most recently a member of Team Chicago Academy- Vasco, U16 team for fall season 2014. I was a starting central defender under Coach Joe Moreau. I am also a starter on my high school varsity team as central defender as well. I play every game, every minute on my high school team. I enjoy fierce competition and I am always asked to mark the opposing team's best striker. As a freshman varsity player at Rosary High School, the players I marked only scored 3 goals in over 20 games. This high school season, I have had the opportunity to play midfield as well as forward and I have scored at each position. I am very versatile and capable of playing at a high level. Rosary won Regionals again, and I was named All Conference as well as a Scholar Athlete. I would make a good candidate for a collegiate team because I have always been a team player. I am disciplined, driven, and motivated to improve my game and grow as a person and player.I am fearless and have the ability to foresee goal scoring plays and set them up to happen. I am always up for the challenge on the field, and I enjoy a tough offensive competitor.I feel that being an athlete has helped me achieve my goals and stay on track for future goals. I am very disciplined in my studies and I feel that being an athlete has helped me prioritize my time. I would love an opportunity to play with a competitive team in college!
