Laulea Akana-Phillips '17 Recruiting Profile

Aloha! 

My name is Lauleʻa Akana-Phillips. I am from Nanakuli, Oʻahu and currently a junior (Class of 2017) at Kamehameha High Schools- Kapalama. I am currently the starting goalkeeper for the Kamehameha Women's Varsity Soccer team. In addition to High School, I am the Goalkeeper for my club teams - Leahi 99 Premier, the Leahi MISO Women's and Leahi WISA Women's team.   Although my primary position is Goalkeeper I can play Striker and Attacking Mid as well.  One of the many goals that I wish to accomplish is to play competitive soccer at the college level.  I have been playing soccer since the age of 4 and it has been apart of my lifestyle ever since. In the game of soccer leadership also plays a big role when I am on and off of the field.  

I have been involved in student leadership since the 3rd grade I had the honor to be the Class President for my class from the 8th grade through 10th grade.  I currently hold the position of the Director of Internal Affairs for the entire high school student body.   Being able to be a leader and role model for my peers at school but also as a captain for my club team gives me great pride and joy for perpetuating what I enjoy doing the most.  

As for my most recent high school soccer accomplishments, I was selected to the 2nd team, as GK,  for the ILH Conference and Honorable Mention for the All State team.
