For as long as I can remember, I have been driven to compete. My earliest memories include racing my father down the hallway at the age of two and expecting to win. That competitive nature has been a driving force in my life, on and off the soccer field. I start every day thinking about how I can compete with myself and others to strive for personal improvement from small tasks like getting ready for school the fastest, to how much I improved on my touches on the soccer ball since yesterday. I tried multiple sports as a young child. But nothing inspired passion for me like soccer. I was drawn to the team collaboration, skill, and strategy that soccer requires. I watched the 2006 World Cup with my parents and asked if girls could do that too. When I found out we could, I was determined and wanted to strive to compete at that level and I have been dedicated to that ever since.
The game has come easy to me. But I had to develop my understanding of the value of team work, a positive attitude, composure, dedication, and setting benchmarks for myself. And my dedication doesn't stop at soccer, nor does my drive for improvement, especially for the future. I've had to overcome extreme demands on my time in order to stay well-rounded. I've accomplished this through disciplined time management and the support of my family, teachers, and coaches. I have become an accomplished musician in two instruments, the piano and saxophone, and an enthusiastic artist, and I'm active in my community. I enjoy cooking for others and helping others. For high school, I want to earn an International Baccalaureate diploma with honors. For college I would also like to graduate with honors, be challenged academically, and have a complete college experience. I hope to find my way to a college or university that offers a strong winning soccer tradition and rich academic history. I know it will take hard work and discipline to achieve all of these goals, but I know I can do it and have fun along the way.
