Hi my name is Shayla Reeves I am currently a junior at Poudre High School. I play varsity soccer at Poudre High School. I have played and started as an outside back for varsity since my freshman year. Poudre High School soccer plays in the top classification in Colorado, 5A, and is in the Front Range League, which is one of the toughest conferences in Colorado. In 2014 I received the Honor of All Conference Honorable Mention and I also received the Honor Athlete Award. For club I play for Arsenal Colorado Gold 98/99. I play and start outside back for Arsenal. We are in the top league in Colorado for our age group. We have also been to several highly ranked tournaments for example: Disney World Showcase, Las Vegas Player Showcase, Etc. I also play varsity basketball at Poudre High School. I have played varsity since my freshman year and started my sophomore year. As a basketball team we made it to the state 5A semifinals in 2014 and the 2nd round of the playoffs in 2015.
I am very serious about my academics and I have a 3.9 GPA. I also take AP and Honors courses. I would like to pursue a career in teaching with a degree in education. I am involved in several clubs at school. Some of these including FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), FCT (Fellowship of Christian Teens), DECA, and FBLA. I am also on the Honor Roll and am a two time Honor Athlete recipient. An Honor Athlete is when you play 2 or more sports and have a 3.75 GPA or above.
I also am very active in the community. I help coach a girls youth rec basketball team named the Jr. Impalas. The team is group of girls between the ages of 12-14, and I have helped coach them for 3 years now. I also help out with a soccer camp called First Kicks. First Kicks is a camp for little kids between the ages of 4 to 9 to help introduce them to soccer. I am also involved in is Liberty Common Jr. High Sports Camp. At this camp I am a counsel for boys’ soccer and girls’ basketball. Another cause that I help out with is the Poudre Feed our Families Food Drive, which is a local food drive hosted by Poudre High School.
I am looking for a college that will not only be a good fit for me as a soccer player but also academically. Thank you for taking the time to view my profile.
