My name is Duante Davis. I live in Fort Collins, Colorado. I am a freshman at Poudre High School. Currently I am 5'9 and 160lbs, I play wide receiver, defensive back and punter. I eat, sleep and breathe sports. I started playing football and basketball when I was 4 years old and haven't stopped. My passion for sports continues to grow the older I get.
I was taught to never give up and if I really wanted something I have to put the extra work in to stand out from others. Playing football in college has always been a dream of mine. When I was younger I remember watching my parents struggle because they didn't have a college degree. They never gave up and raised me to do the same. I was raised to think "where will I go to college" not "if I go to college", because of that I am determined and dedicated to push myself to any limit to make this dream come true.
I feel I stand out from other recruits because I am a leader. My team is my family on and off of the field. I believe we have to trust and help motivate each other in order to thrive on the field. I am reliable, disciplined, coachable, willing to learn new things, positive and like to work for what I have instead of being handed something I don't deserve. I am a competitive player in games and during practice. I run a 4.7 40 yard dash, my wing span is 6'1 feet and have a 39 inch vertical.
I play basketball and also run track for my high school. During football, basketball and track season I also participate in strength conditioning class and early morning workouts/ training.
My academic goals I have set for myself right now are to finish every semester with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. I want to earn a degree in Sports Medicine.
