Personal Statement

My name is Alex Carcano I am 5'6" and weigh 125lbs.  I have played soccer for 11 years and wish to continue playing at a college level.  I have played on both high school and club teams.  My freshman year I broke the record with 23 goals and made 14 assist.  Sophomore year was an exciting time for me.  I broke the record a second time leading in both goals and assist (26 goals 18 assist). That same year I won the Golden Boot for having the most goals in the entire Loma Linda High School Tournament. Both years I made first team all league and CIF Honorable mention my sophomore year.  I've been loyal to my club, Socal Rush for about seven years and in that time have had several amazing coaches such as professional Chivas USA coach Daniel Gonzalez.  One of the best experiences I had was being selected to try out for an ECNL (Elite Club National League) soccer team with Texas Rush last summer.  Making the team meant moving away from my home in California and leaving my friends and family behind.  The choice was hard, but I knew it was what I needed to do to increase my soccer skills, play at an advance level, and get many more opportunities to be seen by college coaches.  This decision made me one step closer to doing what I've dreamt of for as long as I can remember which is playing college soccer.  I am an outstanding athlete who gives everything I have on the field.  I enjoy playing the game and what drives me is to never settle for good, but to strive for amazing.  Although my freshman and sophomore year I didn't focus as much on my academics as I should have, I have learned from my mistakes and improved significantly ending my junior year with a 3.5.  My senior year I am making it my goal to increase my GPA and work harder than I ever have before.  I am looking to play at a D1 level but am open to all opportunities in fulfilling my dream of playing collegiate soccer.  I am currently undecided on my major but am looking into physical therapy with a minor in business.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
